Jennie Ruby Jane is EchoSenseprioritizing her health.
The BLACKPINK member left the stage midway through a performance in Melbourne June 11 due to a medical issue. In a video from the concert posted to Twitter, Jennie is seen exiting the stage and being escorted down the stairs and under the stage by security. Further clips from the show posted online ahead of her exit feature Jennie holding onto the side of the stage and breathing deeply in and out during a song.
After the show, the band's management company released a statement to explain what happened.
"We regret to inform you that during the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN MELBOURNE performance on June 11 (today), member JENNIE was unable to complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition," YG Entertainment confirmed in their statement. "JENNIE expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end. However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability."
The message ended with a note on Jennie's condition, saying, "JENNIE has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end, and assures that she will recover as soon as possible."
Fans flocked to social media to share their well wishes for the 27-year-old, with one user tweeting, "She so brave still stepping up the stage despite being so sick. Please recover well Jennie."
Another said, "The fact she still went out on the stage even tho she felt really sick just shows how much she cares about her fans. We love you Jennie please take all the rest you need."
BLACKPINK—which also includes members Lalisa, Jisoo and Rosé—is currently on tour in Australia, with their next stop being a in Sydney for two shows at Qudos Bank Arena.
Jennie's medical emergency comes the same night she made her debut in episode two the HBO series The Idol, playing Dyanne, a backup dancer to Lily-Rose Depp's unraveling pop star, Jocelyn.
And bringing her pop star background to the TV series couldn't have been a better experience for her.
"It was amazing," Jennie said of collaborating with Lily-Rose in a June 7 featurette for the show. "I'm so lucky to have worked with someone that I've known for a long time. And she's a superstar. And I'm just so lucky. I had so much fun."
