Queen Elizabeth II's pups deserve a round of ap-paws.
Less than two years after the monarch died at the age of 96 in September 2022, her former daughter-in-law Sarah Ferguson is sharing a sweet look at the Queen's beloved corgis, Sandy and Muick.
"Wishing you and all your furry friends a Happy #InternationalDogDay," the 64-year-old wrote on Instagram Aug. 26, alongside a photo of herself with the pups. "For all the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy they bring into our lives, Sandy and Muick will be getting an extra treat on their special day!"
Sarah has been caring for the famous corgis alongside her ex-husband Prince Andrew for the past two years, and has made sure to let everyone know how loved they are—even sharing an update last year on the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's passing.
"As we mourn a year on, we also celebrate the wonderful times we shared with Her Late Majesty the Queen," she wrote at the time. "She entrusted me with the care of her corgis Sandy and Muick and I am delighted to say they are thriving."
The two Welsh corgis were originally a gift from Andrew to his mother—who is believed to have owned for than 30 corgis over her 70-year reign. And the dogs always felt like family. In fact, following Queen Elizabeth's death, Sandy and Muick were even shown awaiting the arrival of her coffin at Windsor Castle during her state funeral.
And as the Duchess of York—who shares daughters Princess Beatrice, 36, and Princess Eugenie, 34, with Andrew—has previously discussed, the two of them have continued thriving.
"I think they are exceptional and they're just very funny," she told E! News in March 2023. "I think—I'm sure—when they're chasing the air, I think they're looking at her."
She added, "That's what I like to think. The squirrels are not in sight but they're still barking at something, so I think it might be her."
